Wonderful! Very good guide who knew all the random facts and strange details we were after. Tour is about an hour and covers alot. There is a small Cafe, we didn't use but seems like coffee and cake etc. Only problem was after a long tour my kids wanted to use the bathroom which was locked up so we had to make a mad dash across town to find one. Good to have them open after each tour. Well worth a look and we'll priced for a family.

Historical and family friendly destination. Food and drink van is by a pleasant outdoor eating area near the main entry. An indoor cafe area housing an Aboriginal art gallery is at the entrance to the main complex.
Great tour guide in Darren with plenty of knowledge. Although We would of liked to see more of the gaol, all upstairs areas are cordoned off and wardens and guards quarters no included in tour. Well worth it though not for children, they tendered to get bored and speak over the guide and also the guide had to censor himself a fair bit leaving us feeling like we missed out on certain parts of history.
Our tour guide, Rhiannon, was very informative and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed seeing each section of the gaol and learning about the history behind it, as well as learning about the modern use of the gaol until it ceased being an active prison in 2004. Some highlights include Ned Kelly's prison cell, outdoor exercise area, pool, prison watch tower and solitary confinement cell. I'll be sure to go back!
